I am an Applied Researcher at Apple. I work on optimising search and ranking algorithms for Apple Media Products.

I have received my Masters degree in Computer Science from Texas A & M University. Previously, I received my Bachelors degree from IIT Hyderabad in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science.

I have worked as a research intern at Apple on news personalisation algorithms and research assistant at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

Projects I have worked on :-

Generating captions for Images :- Image caption generator by using encoder-decoder network with attention.

AutoColor :- Coloring of gray-scale images by posing the problem as classification problem.

Recommendation for Amazon fine food :- Recommendation engine for Amazon fine food dataset(1 M items, 20000 users) using item-item collaborative filtering.

Quora-question similarity :- Finding similar quora question pairs using supervised learning algorithms and hand-picked features.

Sketch-tutor :- game designed to learn a new language by sketching the characters in a fun way.

Age determination by facial recognition - determining age of a person by using the density of wrinkle present on face.

Video compression :- video compression based on region of interest for transmission at lower bandwidths.

Twitter Users :- Implemented HITS approach on twitter dataset to find significant Twitter users.

Netflix Recommendations :- Recommender system for Netflix dataset using item-item collaborative filtering.

Skills :- I mostly code in java. I have experience with C, C++, Python(keras, pandas, tensorflow), Matlab.

Softwares :- OpenCv, Matlab, Tensorflow.

I am also interested in robotics. I was Coordinator of Robotics Club IITH.

I was member of ABURobocon IITH team for 2012-13 and 2013-14.

My favorite cricketers are Shane Warne(The best captain Australia chose not to have), Wasim Akram(who made the ball walk and talk like no-one did), Rahul Dravid(Probably the last classicial test bastman).

I feel Virat Kohli is better than Sachin Tendulkar(I can hear some knives being sharpened, but that’s just my opinion. When Kohli bats in limited-overs cricket, he whispers into my ear: I’ve got this. Whatever the situation, whatever my form, however hot the opposition are: I’ve got this.). Usain Bolt is the greatest olympian ever(not Michael Phelps, Mark Spitz, Jesse Owens, Nadia Comăneci, Bob Beamon, Carl Lewis). His record in 100m and 200m will be intact till 2040 easily.

I am interested in railways, how they function and operate. I won a national level Railway quiz on IndiaRailInfo in Oct, 2012.
